1. Introduction

The Matchbox project aims to increase X Windows practicality and usability on embedded type hardware by providing a number of interchangeable tools that make up a flexible lightweight base user interface.

This includes at its a core a stack based PDA style window manager. Also included is a panel or dock, a PDA style launcher, software input methods and more.

This manual outlines the usage of the projects core applications. For newer applications not covered here refer to the individual package's README file or doc directory.
